I have a torn pcl and lcl, my acl is a cadavers. I need a knee expert to help me decide about surgery.?

I am an athletic trainer. I have worked with many knee injuries inlcuding PCL injuries. In my experience, depending on your activity level, many surgeons do not repair the PCL or the LCL. These ligaments are not crucial to proper knee function during daily activity. However, your sugeon will have the best idea of what is the proper treatment for you as they can clinically evaluate your knee and activity level. Rehabilitation is crucial whether you have surgery or not. Rehab will help restore your range of motion in the knee as well as strength and help restore your stability. If you select to have surgery, pre-surgical therapy can help reduce complications post-surgery. The worry with not having surgery is an increased risk for osteoarthritis later in life due to the increased mobility in the knee joint. However, studies have shown and increased risk with ACL recontrsuction which you have already had. Either way, rehabilitation with an athletic trainer or physical therapist is your first and best treatment as well as consultation with an orthopaedic sugreon. Good luck.
