Why do non Arabic speaking Muslims claim falsely that 4:34 means "leave" not "beat'?

bukhari vol. 7 book 62 # 132 the prophet said, none of you should flog his wife as he flogs a slave and then have ual with her in the last part of the day;;;;;;; muslims say flog or beat means kindest to slaves and wives. normal people see it as it is.
