For feeding tarantulas, are there alternatives to crickets?

I've been thinking about getting a pet tarantula, and I've done lots of research on how to keep them and take care of them, the only thing that's stopping me is that I am terrified of their prey, crickets. Most other insects don't bother me, (except for grhoppers) but I was wondering if there's anything I can feed a tarantula without having to deal with my irrational fears.
