Was this the right thing to do...?

so I have a friend that i like and she has been going through some tough times lately. So one afternoon she asks if we can meet in the park to talk to her and i went. she seemed sad so i gave her some advice and she said that shes glad i came, after that when we were going to leave we hugged and kissed each other. so a couple days later I saw her at school and she seemed alot happier , but one day when we were going to go home she said that she was going to go ahead of me because she had to get somewhere early. I said ok and she left , so I left school a little while after and i wasn't that far away when I saw a man in an grasping her by the wrist, and it seemed as if she was trying to break free. after I saw this i was enraged and ran over and tackled the man into a wall and someone called the cops on him. she said she didn't know him and that she was fine. Now this is the part where i wanted my question is should i have tackled the man? he seemed to be in alot of pain afterwards.
