Serbia and Montenegro??

i've been watching the olypics and saw that serbia and montenegro are two different countrys now. when did that happen? and what about bosnia and hertzigovenia? also i saw that north and south korea now have two different flags when did that happen? i'm also seeing countrys i've never heard of, how many countries exist on the planet and how many are entering in the olympics?
